The MCLA website provides a wide overview of major college lacrosse statistics, from Team to Individual Players. This data spans qualitative data such as Mascots, Coaches, year playing. However the data also goes quite in depth into quantitative data. Face Off success ratios (FO) Ground Balls (GBs) etc. This data is mostly used in a broad scale in order to determine rankings and divisions, as opposed to core strategic gameplay. However, you can parse through and find out the base level advantages and disadvantages each team in your division might have, such as a low ground ball percentage or a high faceoff percentage. These statistics can be utilized to examine opponents weakpoints and act accordingly, changing your offense or defense to match.

This website is a fantastic showcase on how individual teams can track their own stats for improvement or training. While the prior was an overview of the entire league, this data encompases a single team. They include data on every individual player, overall team statistics, and importantly a Game Log. This way, you aren't basing your stats on solely all-encompasing data, but you can examine how you perform against a singular team and adjust accordingly. This data could be used specifically by coaches on a team to judge players performance. For example, if you notice a player has a high face off rate against one team, but for a singular team the other face off man has a higher percentage, you'll know to put in the person most suited for the opposing team, rather than just running on averaged out data.

Home vs Away Team Comparison Statistics 2025

Westminster has much more interesting in depth statistics due to their emphasis on tracking both their own stats AND the stats of the opposing teams they play. This helps them gather context. It's not just how the other team does in the league on average or against other teams, it's quite litterally how the other team fares up against themselves, and vice versa. You can use these statistics going forward to get better insight into your weaknesses going up against the actual team you're playing, and what things they overlooked before that you could capitalize on. By analyzing their stats next to your own, you then can figure out what parts of the game to use all your effort on, and which you should hold back on.

Sample Analysis

You're Massachussets planning to play Westminster next week. From the statistics, which faceoff player should you start? 1. Use the MCLA conference's wide overview to determine where Westminster is in the Confrence when it comes to faceoff percentage. If their ground ball percentage is above average, then you need to prepare your faceoff men accordingly. 2. Check your own statistics on your personal individual team page. Player A may have a weaker face off percentage, but a higher recovery with ground balls, vs player B who wins faceoffs most of the time, but will often loose if it becomes a fight for a lone ground ball. What do the stats support? 3. Unlike MCLA data, Westminster tracks both numbers and those of their opponents. Check how you fair against them, and how they face similar teams to you. Do you have the advantage in Face Offs? Or do they? Is it better at home games but worse at away games? Use this data to compare and contrast.
